Writers Block...

Do you see the time of this post? Do you ever look at the time of other people's posts and wonder, "Do you people ever sleep!?!" It's 2:01 in the AM, and I'm wide awake, but yet have nothing to write about. Oh no, the baby is crying...

Twilight Lovers Beware...

So I started reading the Twilight Books...I know, Shocking. Actually it's really not reading, more listening, I got all four of them as an audio book. Anyways, I got about half way through Twilight when I had to hit stop and rip the earphones outta my ears. I get it, Bella thinks Edward is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I thought since it was about vampires I could hang, but I was wrong. So I loaded them on Jen's iPod and now, we don't talk anymore. I figure I will talk to her again once she's made it through Breaking Dawn. Neither of us had really read anything about theses books and we saw the hysteria that others were making about them, that's why I was willing to give it a whirl. Now, I'm not saying I won't go back reading, err listening to it. I'll see how the movie is. After all, I never picked up a Harry Potter book until after I saw the first movie, which I saw for the first time when the third one was coming out. And I enjoyed all of them.

So for all you Twilighters out there... enjoy.

This guy always has some funny things.

Disney Daze.....I mean Days...

We have a little less then a month before we head off to Florida to Disney World. We're excited since this will be our first trip there for us. The Boys have been really good with saving their money every chance they get. One night we decided to go grab something to eat, and Christian asks if we really should cause "we need to save all our money for Disney World." It was cute to see how he thought.

My question to all of you is this. For us First Timers, what would you recommend and not recommend doing while there? We've bought a Park Hopper pass and plan to visit all four parks, but have been told some are funner the others. So, if any of you have been there at all, please share what you think was the best thing to do and what to stay away from.

Catch Up

So the hurricane really made September fly by. I can't believe it's October already. So we're going to play catch up with what's been happening BESIDES Ike.

Before the Storm we bought a new car. We were in dire need, our main source of transportation had some major electrical problems and it wasn't worth it to get fixed. So we traded it in for a Toyota Sienna. I told Jen now she really looks like a soccer mom. She loves it, we drove out to Lake Charles, LA two weekends ago (when we had no power) So we could stay with Jen's dad that had power. It was a very enjoyable drive. It's a pearl color, which is neat because in the sunlight it almost looks like it's sparkling.

I started back to school and am excited with a project that I'm going to have the opportunity to work on, through the Logistics Program I'm involved in. Each year NASA selects a few local high schools to build and develop things that will be used on the International Space Station. Two Years ago they built movable locker systems that can be transported between the shuttle and the space station quick and easily. This year they're doing it a bit different and are involving Lonestar College in the process. Our class (of about 10 students) will over see this years project and manage the High Schools in building a portable trainer mock-up of the Destiny Laboratory Module. They're using this as a way to be able to train astronauts at other NASA Facilities. I'm excited, we'll be starting this in about a week or two and it'll finish in early April. NASA holds a big ceremony with all involved and they invite the President to be there as well. I always dreamed about being an astronaut when I was younger, this is one step towards that dream.

We gave Parker his first haircut, he did so good. Jen had a hard time letting go of her baby. He looks so much like a big boy now. It's amazing how a little thing like a haircut can make a person look so much older.
Before

During... I had to hold him so he would sit still.

After

Something else that Parker has learned to do is climb up on the Trampoline all by himself. The little Dare Devil.

The boys are still doing swim once a week, to keep them in shape for swim season next summer. Christian's breast stroke is coming along beautifully. Next season he'll be able to swim that event as well as the freestyle and backstroke that he's done previously.

I'm taking a Photogaphy class for my Art credit and am having alot of fun. It's Black and White, 35 MM prints. So we shoot, develop and print everything ourselves. It's great. I took this one of the boys.

I'll post more as I take 'em.
